Philadelphia: The Curtis Publishing Company, 1942. First Edition. Single Issue Magazine. Illustrated by Bransom, Paul. The Post subsequently received thousands of complaints, resulting in the magazine announcing that it "deeply regrets the misunderstanding" and that "the Post has never been, is not now and never will be anti-Semitic in belief or expression." (Reference: JTA April 16, 1942). Mayer [1908-1986], was born into a Jewish home and went on to write "They Thought They Were Free - The Germans, 1933-45", which studied the citizens of Hitler's Germany.
